"The Senate/ "Appropriations Committee reported an amendment on the
Nasser situation. The amendment to the House provisions on Nasser
reads as follows:
'Provided, that no part of this appropriations shall be
used during the fiscal year, 1965, to finance the export
of any agri cultural commodity to the United Arab
Republic under the provisions of Title 1 of such act,

except when such exports are necessary to carry out the
sales agreement entered into October 8, 1962 as amended,
and if the President determines that the financing of such
exports is in the national interest.
"And, the House Banking Committee by a 25 to 3 vote reported the
gold cover bill. "
