Mr. Douglass Cater
Special Assistant to the President
The White House
Washington, D. C.
Dear Mr. Cater:
x
Howard Higman tells me that it might be useful to you to have a
brief statement about the UFO study. Perhaps the enclosed letter sent
today to Harold Brown will meet the need. Will be glad to supply any-
thing additional. Nick Golovin on Hornig's staff knows the earlier story.
James
x
McDonald in an April 1967 speech to the American Society of News-
paper Editors advocated an UFO budget comparable to NASAs, and in a
January 1968 speech in Hartford, Conn., , advocated UFO studies whose cost
11
would "dwarf the space program, thereby raising the ante.
Sincerely,
EuCondon
