D. 1888 personally\nappeared in the Superior Court of Los Angeles County, before the Clerk thereof,\naugust Sneppman\nan alien, and reports himself for Naturalization, and being\nduly sworn, oath declares that he is a native of Germany\non\naged\n30\nthat he emigrated thence, embarked at Bremen\nyears, and owes allegiance to Comparen of Cerminary\nand arrived\nat\nNew york\nin the United States, on the\n104\nday of august\ntha\n1882, and that it is Bona Fide his intention to reside in, and become a Citizen of the United\nat\nStates, and to renounce all allegiance and Fidelity to every Foreign Prince, Potentate or Sovereignty whatever,\nand particularly to Emperor of Germany\nAugust Chelpsmann\nStai\nand\nSubscribed and Sworn to before me this\n22%\nday\nof June\n1888.\n(due)\nan I\nClerk of said Superior Court, hereunto set my hand and\nOfficial Seal, this\n22%\nday\nof June\n1888\n4.
