I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any
foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, and particularly to
the
Francis Joseph, Emperor of Austria and Aposolic King of Hungary, of whom I have heretofore been a subject (and that
[SEAL.]
I further renounce the title of
an order of nobility, which I have heretofore held);
that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies,
foreign and domestic; and that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same.
Subscribed and sworn to before me, in open Court this
