THE PRESIDENT HAS SEEN
CANADA
PRIME MINISTER PREMIER MINISTRE
Ott a W a,
K1A OA2,
May 31st, 1972.
Dear Mr. President:
Please accept this note of welcome
on your return to North America following your
important and successful trip. You will under-
stand, I am sure, that Canada's geographic location
between the United States and the Soviet Union
gives Canadians special reason to be very pleased
with the results of your visit to Moscow this past
week.
The Strategic Arms Limitations Agree-
ment, and the common ground found in a number of
other strategic areas, are heartwarming evidence
that a new climate of confidence has been introduced
into international relations. For this, all mankind
will be grateful.
I wish to offer you my congratulations
on these accomplishments and, on behalf of Canadians,
sincere thanks for these contributions towards a
peaceful world.
Yours sincerely,
The President of the
United States of America,
The White House,
Washington, D. C., ,
U. S. A.
