CONFIDENTIAL SUGGESTED LETTER Dear Mr. Prime Minister: You were most thoughtful to write to me about relations with the Soviet Union. On the visit which I plan to make to Moscow next May, I would agree with your point about guarding against expectations which might not be fulfilled. It is my firm hope, nevertheless, that my trip will bring us farther into an era of broader reconciliation through negotiations. I appreciate the information which you and your officials have passed to us about Premier Kosygin's visit to Canada. We plan, of course, to consult with Canada in advance of my trip to Moscow. Mrs. Nixon and I look forward with great pleasure to our visit to Canada. I am confident that our talks will be of mutual benefit. With kind regards, Sincerely yours, Richard Nixon The Right Honorable Pierre Elliott Trudeau, P.C., , Prime Minister of Canada, Ottawa.
