It was very good to receive your message of
November 23 agreeing on the desirability of
prompt initiation of US-Canadian consultations
on short-term energy supply problems.
I am confident that these talks will produce
tangible results evidencing our mutual desire
for continuing cooperation not only in the
current short-term situation but with respect
to longer-term energy needs as well.
