W said he wanted to talk about ABM for a few minutes - one of worst
possible decisions that the President could make would be to take a
posture that looked politically acute Hkx like basing it on minutemen,
which clearly needs defending (spending mone on something that is
not needed, etc. ) W said total Soviet force at this stage could
not destry the minutemen - in order to have a high probability of
deskixyx destroying, you would have to have at least a two to one attack.
W said at this juncture xxixux minutemen are safe. W said
if picture changes, there is time to react. W said it is really
not a good system for protecting minutemen - it is too expensive
and it is not even sensible to do it. K said this has been put before
President but he will reinforce using W's name.
W and K agreed to meet on Monday, March 17 at 6:00 PM
