TELCON Greek Amb Mr. Kissinger 4-3-69 10:55 AM Amb said he understood it was not possible for K to come and see the King. K said he is completely overwhelmed and it is not possible for him to get away. Amb said when the King went to see Mr. Rogers yesterday he told him he was a little bit displeased because he did not have the occasion to atalk to Mr. Nixon. Amb said that is why he thought if the King could have contact with K (of even a few minutes) it would help. Amb said the King is leaving at 2:30 PM. K said today is just out of the question. Amb asked about talking to the King on the phone. K agreed to call the King at 11:30. The Amb said as K knows the King is in a difficult position and it would help if we could soothe his feelings a little bit. K said he did not see the Deputy PM either. Amb said he realized that.
