Mr. Kissinger
Senator Javits
7:56 p. m. , September 24, 1969
K said the President couldn't see Javits before he saw Golda Meir;
he has a press conference on Friday for which he is preparing. K
said he would be happy to see J if that would help. J said it would
indeed, and agreed to come by K's office at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday,
September 25. K will have already eaten breakfast but will serve
J breakfast at the latter's request, while they talk for 30 minutes.
J then said he had just read a copy of a letter from Jonas Salk to
K on chemical and biological warfare (he mentioned this had been
his branch of service). K told J that we are in favor of controlling
that. J said there would not be time to discuss this subject, however,
in Thursday's meeting.
