Telecon Secretary Romney 10/11/69 2:28 p.m. K said he had talked to the President about R's suggestion (see Telecon, 10/10/69). Said he (the P) didn't want anybody to do anything official on Oct. 15; just as soon leave that day to the protestors. R said that the things that have happened since he made that offer have been much more significant. K said that he tremendously appreciated R's offer, and thanked him very much. K said he hoped to see R soon, and best to R's wife [Leonore? ]. R said, they (the Rs) would love to have K out any time he has a free night. Knows he is very busy, but any time he is free and would like to drop in and have dinner, please do so.
