Telecon Secretary Laird 9:10 a. m. 10/24/69 Laird wanted K to know that the menu has been laid on for all week. They have identified some targets but they aren't good wnes. in the DMZ. Laird said there may be problems since there are some reporters wandering around the DMZ and they will probably hear this -- he wanted to caution K. They decided that two days would be plenty and that they didn't have to be anything big. At least, Laird said, they will know they have been hit. Laird said this would follow Rogers press conference. K said what press conference. Laird said isn't he having one on Sat. to make the announcementm K said his understand was that Rogers would background after the announcement had been made at the White House. Laird thought that would be good and it should be that way. He knew Rogers was doing something because Laird had to delay a meeting he was having Sat.
