Telecon George Meany 2:00 p. m. 10/29/68 Meany said he talked to the President this morning before going into the meeting and they discussed a report that is out on the Douglas Committee for Peace and Exix Freedom in Vietnam. K said the President read an informal version but would appreciate receiving a copy of the report. Meany said he would have one sent over. Meany thought it was the most logical and practical approach and felt it would be good for the President to read before his final draft of the speech. K said that he would be glad to come over Monday morning to brief him and Meany said that would be fine. (The President mentioned that K should do this.) Reproduced at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library DECLASSIFIED This document has been reviewed pursuant to Executive Order 13526 and has been determined to be declassified.
