Telecon Gov. Rockefeller 11/03/69 10:37 p. m. R said he thought the speech was superb and beautifully delivered. He said the quiet strong way and clear determination were just great. R said he is thrilled. K aaid when R talks with the P he should encourage him as much as he can, the White Homee public relations boys know only commentators. R said he had talked to George Hinman and he thought it was great. K said R should tell the P that and tell him R thought the delivery was good too. K said R has always been a good friend, but the moral support he has given recently has been extraordin- ary; there are not many people who have the strength to do it, and R has been marvelous. R said K'is great; K got this done. R said again he thought it was great, and that it's going to make a wonderful impression on 80 or 90 percent of the people. R said K could go to sleep feeling that he has done a tremendous job.
