K said he would make sure Bailey and Semple got in before the end of the
week. The President thought it would be very helpful. He asked if K
thought it was best for K to handle the press XXXXXXX conference rather
than himself. K said yes and added that the President should let himself
get into the heckling.
The President mentioned again the statement by Mary McGrory. K said
she didn't look very good afe after his reply. x The President said, the
thing is they are dying because of the polls. They said we were down.
K said they had the President on the skids in October. The President added,
also before the Asian trip and there will other times. The President said
we wouldn't give a damn what happens.
