Telecon Roland Evans 12/3/69 11:10 a. m. E said are you the famous White House swinger? K said Jesus Christ! I don't have to do anything more. E said K will never get rid of that reputation; it will be more important on your gravestone than having been President Nixon's top advisor. K said I just hope everyone will re- member when I am teaching at Arizona State. E said he had been bothering K's secretaries about seeing K. K said no, I agreed this morning to have breakfast with you next Tuesday. E said wonderful; what time? K said 7:45 or 8:00; 7:30 is really too early. E said we'll go to the Metropolitan Club. K said he read what E wrote about Vietnamization. K said he had never said it before because he's not sure of it and he's afraid of suffering from the Rostow disease, but something seems to have happened in the country- side. K said they would talk about it next week. K said he is doing a de- tailed study; doesn't have the results of that yet. E said there's a good man in State, maybe K knows him--Bill Steerman- he's done a lot of thinking on this. He's in Ray Klein's shop - INR. K said no, he doesn't know him; he's got to meet him. E said he was in Vietnam. E said the big thing to him is the Middle East. E thinks we've really got our asses in this thing. E said he would talk with K about that next week.
