TELECON Mary McGrory 7:35 p. m. , December 15, 1969 Miss McGrory said she was currently involved with the Black Panthers. She asked K if he had gotten the special delivery letter she had mailed to him last night to the White House. It had her address but not her name on it. It had said if the 19th were the only possible time, they would do it. K asked her if she had all her peacenik friends lined up. He said he could do it on Friday. However, he said he would confirm to her on Tuesday by noon. M said her friends are waiting for word from her. They have said they could do it up through Monday. K said he does want to see them; M said she was delighted that he will. K said he assumes there will be no publicity on either side. M said none from her, and they have a constituency which would be just as alarmed if it were made public. K said on his part, it would help -- it would show open-mindedness. M said some people in the Administration would think K were being corrupted and led astray. K said he appreciated M's patience. M said she understood -- hies time isn't his own. They discussed the Newsweek article. M said she could expect to hear from K tomorrow noon without fail. She gathers the weekend is completely out for him. K if it would be better for her, he could do it Sunday night. M said if it fit into his plans. K said he would check it out and get back to her by noon, Tuesday. lds Reproduced at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library DECLASSIFIED This document has been reviewed pursuant to Executive Order 13526 and has been determined to be declassified.
