I don't know who\nwrote it but it's bad. We would be better using the President's Scientific\nAdvisory Board paper\nK: The President just wants to go the other way.\nL: Dave will. But I 've been ging over this peper and for hours\nK: I will call it back and say it was an unauthorized xxxxxx paper and it will\nbe redone. Do you think that's better/\nL: Yes. Dave Packard will start out with a tough statement. I haven't been able\nto cancel out on that California thing.\nK: So you won't be there?\nL: I tried to get someone else but they were as mad as hell . o If I don't show up\nand I don't think I can cancel. It's the new nuclear frigate named after\nCalifornia because it's the President's state. We tried to get the Secretary\nof the Navy. Do you think I should call the President and explain?\nK: Yes, becuase he is counting on you. I will call the paper back right now.\nL: Fouls up on Chinese txxdex threat\nK: Can I call it back?\nL: State is using it. Bill called me and said you cannot defend northwest\ndefense on this side\nK: I will say it was done by an individual staff member and has no standing.\nI will do it at the beginning of the meeting. I will say there are two papers\nand one has no standing.\nL: Shoud I call the President about the Calif. thing?\nK: No. Now is not a good time and I think he will understand.
