Telecon Mr. Y 1/27/70 9:10 a. m. Y: I talked with my friend just a few hours ago. K: Yes. Y: He was very sorry to hear that you feel fox confused at the results of the recent conversation between our new gentleman and your man here. He meant to be more productive. My friend will meet your man this week and will explain to your man the xitxixixx situation as much and as frankly as he can go without diverting (?) the understanding. So could you wait for his report? K: All right. Y: And my friend asks you to assure your friend that he will honor the understanding between our friends. K: All right. Y: And his top aide here K: Yes, I know. Y: has already agreed with my friend about the figures in that understanding. K: Right. Y: My friend expressed his deep concern as well as regret The problem from my friend's point of view is essentially of a technical nature. How to put things through our bureaucracy, and probably yours too, as quickly and also as naturally as possible, and frankly and apparent- ly his working people have been somewhat puzzled and con- funed. However my friend remains optimistic about overcoming these difficulties. K: Okay. Y: My friend considers this line of communication invaluable NXW in the future well both need it. He mentions the as as we meeting here of Senator Javits. Apparently the Senator was well-briefed on the three and he would like you to pay attention to the Senator's report.
