VP: I was wondering agin about my conversation with you the other day and
whether you had had a chance to discuss it with the President. I saw a bulletin
yesterday about the problem of raising this issue in an inflammatory manner
at NATO.
K: I raised it but he didn't react. Probably because he wants no more problems
domestically at this point. Let me raise it formally again today and call you
back. Maybe you want to talk directly to the President.
VP? Have you discussed the Danish idea concerning the NATO meeting?
K: This we deplore.
VP: We tried to discourage it in tenuous ways. I feel it will go off the track
and Tasca feels the same way.
K: We won't reat until we get them into a pro-left stand and then we will
take an interest.
