K: The Prime Minister apparently understands you have to have the
proposal by the 18th.
S: Good
K: It will be on the line of one of our two proposals. Miasawa has orders
to that effect. They have to get their industry ready. They want to know
if your contact is a valid one.
S: It sure is.
K: Is it someone you can trust?
S: He was my deputy when I was director of the Bureau of the Budget.
K: They are sending Miasawa to visit us.
S: He is a close friend of mine and a close friend of Miasawa and
Miasawa trusts him.
K: What is his name?
S: Rex Reid
K: I will say this is a valid contact. He will be there Monday?
S: Not Monday or Tuesday. He will probably be there Wednesday.
K: It sounded
they may be double-crossing liars

they are having a hard time. They also talked to the head of our
industry who is coming to the meeting (?) He was at their meeting
in Osaka.
S: WXXX At our meeting with industry on Monday we can't tell them
too much about this?
