K: I am calling you because I know how close you are to the Rockefeelers.
We have heard that Dave Rockefeller will be the next Assist. Secy. of State.
Would we be foolish to address that.
HAK: I think SO. I would be amazed.
K: I remember at one time the President wanted him in the Cabinet. We
thought now this might be a possibility. I will take your guidance.
HAK: I will run a check but I would be surprised.
K: You haven't heard that something is imminent.
HAK: No.
K: If you could run a xkx check. I understand there's a briefing Friday.
HAK: It won't be xxxx the report. In a general way. But not the report.
K: Something encouraging?
HAK: It's just a preliminary wrap up.
K: You haven't heard anything on the Cambodian decision?
HAK: The origin of the Cambodian decision? I think there may be one paper
doing it.
K: I heard the NYTtimes was after it.
HAK: I don't want to go into the position of the various actors but you haven't
anything to be ashamed of. Loory will run a check on quotes with me on that
article, won't he?
K: It hasn't been in the paper yet. You were not quoted directly. It's in
Los Angeles. What Henry Kissinger is todya.
