K: I don't see any problem with that.
J: Neither do I/ Okay. Next, I will bring out paper for Dave
Buuce with me. I presume the Predident will want this to
be a personal rank.
K: Hasn't that been our regular procedure there?
J: Yes, I think it was, There was no formal confirmation for
Lodge, just a personal rank.
K: Yes.
J: I presume the President will want a swearing in out there.
K: Not a bad itea.
J: We ought to swear him in and puthim on our roles SO we can
pay for him. We could swear him in as a reserve officera and give
him a personal rank. We may want a little ceremony.
K: It hasn't been planned but it's a good idea. It's something that
should be done.
J: Okay, I'll bring that with me.

K:He's getting jumpy about that.
J: What Carl said in his testiomny was all right; it was Sheehan that
was the problem.
K: Well, almost every day there's some story saying that State De-
partment officials said something or other, He didn't intend to make a
statement if these press stories don't come out.
J: I think it came out well. It was a real tour de force. Will you
have some thing for Gerry or Farley over the weekend?
K: I hope SO. He hasn't focused on it yet. But Ihope to have someting
over the weekend. Good, see you Satruday
J : Is it just a general chat on Saturday?
