J: I just talked to Nelson on the campaign. I called you yesterday because of
the decision on Foreign Relations Committee. I wanted to talk to you about what
happened here yesterday, The Committee and the President are headed for
a xxxx collision course on executive privilege because ambassadors and
all are told not to appear before the committee or give a written transcript.
I
have urged and ? ? ? ? ? ? agrees that Fulbright and Aiken should tell
the President what's going on. It was Bill Fylbright who lead the committee
in great g restraint. The blue
have come when they are not going to
han g you. I have mentioned this before. Bill and Aiken if I report back that they
will be recieved with a forthcoming fedling they will be ? ? ? ? ? to the Pres.
? ? ? ? ? ? ? Hoping that it will be a more forthcoming? ? ? ? and
the
advice and constant
can be developed. I don't think this committee is
lost to the President.
