K: Am I correct in assuming that you are getting to a statement
today?
F: No,, tomorrow at the earliest. Today if we have anything it
will be a statement of smypathy for the people in the desert.
K: Okay, but it's out of my hands; you are taking care of it.
F: No, it's in the hands of Mr. Haig. I have got it under control
and will keep your office completely informed and if you want to affect
it in any way, just let me know.
K: No, I don't want to affect it.
F: Okay, do you have any concern about our negotiations with
calling the people holding the hostages "criminals. 11
K: No.
F: Okay, does it bother you that we are calling for "condemning"(?)
the countries that continue to trade with the involved nations?
K: No, my only interest is to know what the President wants and do it.
F: I was talking with him; he said he wanted to embargo these
countries and Cuba. I said "But Mr. President, we don't trade with Cuba
anyway. 11 And he said then we want to embargo the people who fly to
them.
K: We can't do that.
F: I know we can't. Okay, I'11 get a new copy of the draft to you today.
