K: I haven't seen Frankel in three months - in fact no one from
the New York Times. The last backgrounder I gave was the one
in October at Hartford. Do you mind if I ask him what he was talking about?
H: Well, my relations are not good with him and I don't know if they
are going to improve in the future. He really talks too much. You know
I heard you use a word to describe Laird - exiguous (phonetic) - and
that describes him perfectly.
K: I have never seen a cabinet like this one. When a crises comes
up no one knows anything. It reminds me of this joke. This
stood up and said he was a Nazi and when they asked him why he said
that nobody else seemed to think he was a Nazi so he must be one.
