I don't want to send our\nreport over until I have a chance to go over it. If it's going to be\ndelayed for 3-4 weeks as the President said\nK:\nI wanted to look through it as a check list for topics.\nR:\nWe can send you the index. I don't want any circulation until\nI go over it. Obviously the President should decide on what to put in,\nand ours has to be consistent with his. If anything is unsatisfactory,\nwe will change it.\nK:\nThere are two problems\none is consistency and to see if\nthere are any gaps. We only have 48 hours to see if there are any\ntopics we should have covered.\nR:\nI don't want any circulation of ours until I have looked at it.\nI have glanced over the contents as to general subject matter and\ngeneral format. I have told my people it has to be totally consistent\nwith the President's report. I don't want it to get around until I go\nover it.\nK:\nI won't make an issue of it. We went through this last year.\nPederson and I had an agreement. But if you don't want to do it,\nyou don't have to do it. It's fine with me.\nR:\nLet me repeat -- I have to look at it.\nK:\nWe wanted to see if there were any gaps in ours that should\nbe covered and weren't covered. For example, Mexico wasn't mentioned\nyour people hadn't flagged it to us. It's deserving of two sentences.\nI am sure we have all the important things.\nR:\nOn the Mexican thing, there's no reason why\nIt's nothing\nserious, but it's a good thing to have.\nK:\nHe was involved in meetings with the Mexicans twice. It isn't\na big deal; no one who reads the report will notice, but the Mexicans\nmight wonder, in 55,000 words, why we couldn't remember his visit\nthere."
