Z: Laird did a very good job.
K: Good.
Z: Spent an hour and 25 minutes. My judgment is that because he
went so extensively into this there's no need for you to cover it.
K: I won't unless they ask. Have you got a text?
Z: No, and unfortunately we're not going to get one in time for the 2:30
meeting.
K: But before the 4:30?
Z: We'll try.
K: When they start asking questions about Laos I'll just say let's
talk about the report first and then that if there's time.
Z: Laird said there weren't two pipelines cut.
K: That son of a bitch!
Z: He said there was one main and a spur that went out from there.
K: I was told by those stinking briefers there were two. Why would
I make that up?
Z: Well there was a spur coming off of that -- you can say there were
two: one major one and one a spur. You might want to check with Laird's
office. One ot her thing: they said we were told by the White House that
Tchepone was
K: I never said Tchepone was an objective.
Z: No, but you said it was a switching station.
K: The Tchepone area.
Z: That's okay.
K: Okay, you're doing a good job.
Z: I thought you were until I saw your luncheon guest.
