P: One on UK problem. I will guess they will want to sit down with the
Presidentxthixx tomorrow afternoon. I have the whole thing going. The
NSC people are meeting with me at 3:00. I think we should sit down for a
summary.
K: How about 7:00 tonight?
P: OK. Secondly, I forget who said this -- Geo. or Geo and the President
saying foreign aid I should coordinate. We have this meeting with Rudy
Peterson tomorrow.
K: My understanding is it's a joint effort but I will not bleed on it. Who has
the meeting with Peterson?
P: The President and You and I will be there.
K: That's not
?
P: No. We wondered who will handle future liaison with Rudy and I wanted to
suggest to the President I think it has to be you or me.
K: I agree.
P: If that's all right --
K: It'a lix all right with me. Let me think about you or me XIX or both of us.
I have no overwhelming concern with it. No problem.
P: Let me send this memo over to you that Bergsten or Johnson wrote. I
need a feel on it.
K: OK
