Then let the President pull it back. What time will this happen
on Thursday?
K:
During the course of the afternoon. Israel won't say anything before
Friday or Saturday.
AG:
Would it be helpful to try and get them to lay off until there is a
White House reaction?
K:
I have implored them to stay away from the President.
AG:
Not criticize him, that would be good. If they can be postured, that
would be good.
K:
I think it can.
AG:
Do that, of course we have got the Blue Chips.
K:
Think we ought to play it that way.
AG:
It would be constructive. The reading on the hill of the Congress
would be basically against the position of the State Department don't
you think?
K:
That is my strong impression.
AG:
Fulbright ????? strongly for the Israelis.
K:
I think that is right.
AG:
Let's let them get out on a limb if we can keep them away from
the President.
K:
I think we can.
AG:
