TELCON Vogt/Kissinger 2:12 p. m. 3/20/71 K: I wanted to check in with you. I have nothing overwhelming. V: After talking with you last night we got a message out putting on the briefing. Then I talked to Clay and told him to really get into that weather window. There seems it will be a xxeather window for a 4-hour period. K: How many sorties in 4 hours? V: A couple of hundred. K: That will get their attention. V: They are set to go and the weather looks good. Question is, if we start, are we authorized for the re-strike. K: That would be tomorrow night? V: Tonight and Sun. night our time. K: Make sure it's stopped by Mon. night. V: No problem. K: I will take my chances. V: He knows it's important. Even if only what is open. K: Just go inx there and clobber them. V: There's a lot of hard fighting in there and they are under duress but they are coming out in an orderly manner. K: We want to be sure briefing includes morale. V: I understand he wants to go into whether people refused to fight. K: He does. V: We will get a message out.
