TELECON Mr. Kissinger/Ambassador Mosbacher 3:36 p. m., April 21, 1971 K: When an Assistant to the President can't get into a club for dinner M: You can get into the Madison Square Garden Club. But it will be a madhouse. I think you'll enjoy more an invitation to cocktails/cheese, etc. in the Director's Room before the game, and we could get a bite to eat afterwards. K: That's a good idea. It doesn't put us under SO much p ressure making the plane. Are you coming back with me? M: Probably not. K: Then you don't care how late we are out. M: We are going to White Plains to see Clifford Daniel about Truman's funeral plans. K: Is he sick? M: No; we found 10 days ago that there were plans for the service in Indpendence, but none for the memorial service in Washington. Our office is responsible, so I will do it. K: It's a ghoulish business. M: But somebody has to ask questions. It's a good thing it's a son-in-law. K: Should I make reservations for dinner afterwards? M: Pat and I would like you to join us for dinner. K: I can probably get a plane around 11:30. M: But the plane will wait, won't it? K: It has no choice. M: Do you like the Plaza, 21 or where?
