One thing that I - - and I just talked to Herb Klein about -- I think
you ought to do in the morning is to see Joe Alsop. Have you
done that yet?
K:
No, but I have called him and I am going to see him on Sunday.
He has some family troubles.
P:
Fine.
K:
Dave Kraslow is writing an article not just about this but about
your being a hero for foreign policy.
P:
Well, the main thing for Joe is that he is grumbling and we really
ought to do this.
K:
I asked him not to write anything until I talk to him on Sunday.
P:
You say he is having family troubles.
K:
Some family trouble. One of his brothers is trying to

so he won't be writing his piece until Sunday.
P:
If you see him on Sunday afternoon, that's fine.
K:
Mr. President, one point with Gerry Smith. He said something to
you about the accidental war deal. My recommendation is not to
say anything tomorrow to him but wait until he is back on the 28th
because he will blab it in Vienna where if we wait until he gets back,
we can use that to
