J: I understand from Al that you heard from your friend David.
K: Yeah, I have some cables you can look at; they're not clear to me.
J: The Post is carrying a story this morning that he reached an agreement
K: On Taiwan.
J: Does he say that?
K: No, that he doesn't say. One is about shoes
J: About shoes? !
K: Yeah. The other explains why he was tougher than his instructions
about the P-3 thing. And the third has to do with his objection to the return of
the
Islands.
J: His objection?
K: Well, he tends to go along with it. Why don't I send them over with a
messenger and you read them and give them back?
J: Okay. These were to you?
K: One was to me; the others to Peterson. But I am going to insist that
I be sent a copy of everything that goes to Peterson; this is an impossible way
to do business. Why don't I send them over; it's not worth a trip
J: Yes, send them over and I'11 send them right back.
