increasingly concerned on distortions coming out on
the POWs.

you would consider a backgrounder?

Absolutely not. I think it would call more attention to it.

I am getting a lot of words that you have been badaxcexxxx
/Bawed out by the Vietnamese, why won't you talk to them,
bawled
etc. I am just talking now about this particular problem.
K:
They will say if they give you a deadline - they will say what
will you do? We will be glad to talk to Hanoi - not with the
press. I think they will run out of steam.
S:
I think you should think about it.

I will think about it. We will insist that if Hanoi wants to
talk we will talk.

newspaper men will be speculating and also other people.
I think you should be thinking about what you could say,
to keep them off your back.
