K: I have had a repeated request from the President to get some
development program for Vietnam in case the President wants to make some
sort of longer term commitment to Thieu. We are getting stonewalled all
over the placy by the community. Nooter in AID says we can't get a paper.
If we can't get it out of the bureaucracy, we'll have to do it here at the White
House and everyone will scream White House interference. I wonder if you
could get Bill Sullivan to come up with some sort of
I: Who is your man working on this?
K: Bob Sansom.
I: Okay, let me look into it. When will you be back?
K: Sunday.
I: Good, I'11 see you this afternoon.
K: Good, I appreciate it.
