TELECON
Mr. Haldeman
6/2 30/71 12:10 p. m p. 2
K: My instinct tells me won't get a fillbuster. I have a feeling they
are losing steam. I had some of the Washington newsmen at my dinner/
They said these papers didn't surprise them. There's nothing new in
them.
H: Why didn't I get invited to your dinner?
K: That's a damn good question.
H: You don't want to mix with your less infuential friends.
K: Don't be absurd.
On this filibuster, we can kill
them. If we get two out of three we'll kill them.
H: Unless Bill and I figure out our plan to scuttle on it.
K: Once the trip announcement is out it may revive that first story.
Another nasty thing. At Geneva yesterday we were in principle to the Soviet
proposal for the five-power conference. This is one day after I told the
Chinese we would say nothing about it yet.
