K: Haven't been able to get in touch with your daughter.
S: I will have herx call this morning.
K: Are you having that thing next week?
S: Lead on VN.
K: Cover?
S: No, lead. It will be in the Nation section and a major piece. If I could
get your feelings and ideas on that reflected in the story.
K: You haven't succeeded yet.
S: A difficult situation here because Congress --
K: Everyone looking for a way to bug out. I am not all that excited. We shall
not overlook it.
S: Hard to talk on the phone. I have a number of specific things and a numbe
of things that have come up. Wondering about whole relationship between
Bunker and Big Minh and Ky and where we are with that and what it does to
our own timetable and planning. We have been saying that reason for commit-
ment has been self-determination.
K: You want to come in around 11:45? I won't have much time.
S: That's okay. I will be there.
K: Unless you are considering me as man of the year.
S: If you come back from Peking.
K: Childs has already said that.
S: I don't like the idea of the Chinese approving the list.
K: That's absurd. They can tell us how many hotel spaces they have. It was
one of his bad days.
