J: I'm sorry I can't meet you on Friday. I understand Secretary
Rogers was against my coming to Washington because it might somehow
appear to
K: I didn't know about it.
J: We had a meeting with him on Tuesday and he said he had heard
I was supposed to go to Washington and I shouldn't.
K: [laughs]
Some day I'11 write a book.
J: But I was wondering if there was a chance of Hyvarinen seeing
you for a moment in the next few days.
K: Where?
J: He can come to Washington.
K: Sure.
J: At a time that might be convenient to you.
K: Maybe next week.
J: Yes.
K: We'll call you this afternoon. Any particularl subject?
J: You know what we are interested in of course, and on China he
might have something of interest.
K: Good.
J: So we'll hear from you?
K: Yes.
J: Will you be in New York soon?
K: Only very briefly, but I hope tosee you when I come some time in
the next few weeks.
