you can say that you would like to see him and set up a time. He is very
much worth your seeing. The other fellow you have to talk to is Peterson.
He takes so much time. Don't worry too much. The first thing to do is
talk with George a little. I would like to get it where you, George, Connally
and I -- would make this decision. I want to put Burns, McCracken and
Peterson off.
Another phone call at 7:00 p.m.
P: Are you going to New York tomorrow?
K: I was going to New York tomorrow afternoon.
P: I was thinking about going up to the mountains -- Camp Hoover.
But you should go to New York. Get away from all this.
K: I was going to go up and see some of my family.
P: Do you have to go out tonight? Have you had anything to eat? Just
pot luck -- come on over.
K: Thank you, Mr. President.
P: Can you come now?
K: In five minutes.
P: Fine.
