K: We sent over 4 months ago a paper on the increase of weapons systems
for comment and on which the President wanted DOD's views. We have
periodically asked Pursley to send it back and told we will get an answer.
What Oxixa plane XOXEX cost in World War II and in the '50's and '60's. It came
to the President's attentiona and he would like a reaction.
P: We discussed it here recently.
K: We would like an explanation and reaction to the briefing. One arguement
they make that the Soviets keep increases to smaller proportions then
we do.
P: Who gave you that briefing?
K: A paper that was drawn from a briefing that showed up here kodayx that the
President read. You have the whole text.
P: I will take care of it.
K: Pursely will know because he is sitting on it.

K: On the other thing, I will send you a letter that the President sent Mel and
another copy on the paper.
P: I haven't seen the briefing.
K: It wasn't a world-shaking briefing and not given to anyone. It's a peper
with tables.
P: Have you a copy?
K: Yes. I will send it. If the President wanted to put into the budget the
thing to 77.
P: I will have that for you.
K: Boat as well as the missile.
P: I will have it. I can give you a tentative figure.
K: Can you give me an order of magnitude? I am here with Geo. Shulta.
