Sh: I have a memo from Defense program that John Court intitiated from you and
I to the President.
K: I have to talk to Haig about it. I will call you in the morning. I don't accept
staff work until I have checked it.
S: It's the memo we have had so many go-rounds on.
K: Can't it wait 24 hours?
S: No because in the Defense process they are batting it up to Packard.
K: Between 6:00 tonight and noon tomorrow it will make no difference.
S: By noon he will make a decision and once a decision is made he can't be
shaken loose. So we need it soon.
K: Noon tomorrow.
S: And then we have to talk with Laird.
K: I may be able to confirm by middle of the morning.
S: I remember going to Andrews you were going to have Haig check it.
K: I have not gotten his word yet.
