Charles, I understand that your President is giving a ride to
our Ambassador in a Concorde. The best we can offer you is a ride
on the President's plane to the Azores.
L:
I thank you and the President very much. I will have to speak
with Paris.
K:
Tell them you have been invited to ride on Air Force One.
L:
When are you leaving.
K:
Sunday afternoon. We apologize for the slowness of the
transportation.
L:
What do you mean?
K:
It's slower than yours.
L:
(Laughed) That is very good. Thank you. I will get in touch
with Paris and call you back.
K:
Call me or General Haig. We will keep a place for you on the
plane.
L:
I am very thankful to you.
