Wallace. I wonder if you remember the lunch I had with a reconstruction and it
was pretty accurate. You said when the story broke you would fill me in.
K: I don't know how much xxxx more I want to say. Were you at the briefing thi S
morning?
A: No. By whom ?
K: By whoxax me. You can read the transcript. I explained evaluation of the
position. 8 points and why SO complicated. One reason is we are following their
sequence and proposal leaving out one on reparations which we will do separately.
A: And not cut SVN off at the knees.
K: Not join our enemy in overthrowing friends and doing for the enemy what he
cannot do himself.
A: And will & not do. It will be most embarrasing for a front running Democratic
candidate to run on this.
K: If he wants to, let him. It's the position he is in. I like having lunch with you
and I might get a favorable column.
A: You have had plenty.
K: Let's have lunch. Let's see what more that can be said. Early next week?
A: Whatever you say.
K: We will suggest a time. Next week.
A: I will be writing about Geo. Wallace this week and if I want to write about this
I will need a handle.
K: What you do can be next week. You feel fine ?
A: I feel fine. In full feather. Have lunch with you early next week.
