K: The Chinese would appreciate your saying today that agenda items will not be
discussed today but in communique when we finish.
P: That's a good answer.
K: If you leave it open today you will say it in Hawaii in the know and they will
start governing themselves to reassure Hanoi. Press wants China to be a success
and they will not look for trouble. We confine to bilateral relations.
P: I won't say that. You open the subject. I will not discuss agenda. We have
an agreement not to discuss the advance.

K: Chinese will be grateful for that. If you are deiced to do that in Chinx then
that's that. But it might be a pleasant day and you will decide not to. They will
not harass you on China.
P: Agenda doesn't concern me a bit.
K: The more mysterious the better.
