Irving Lazar/Mr. Kissinger
5:35 pm, October 6, 1972
K:
Good.
L:
I'd like very much to see you. How are you otherwise ?
K:
I'm fine.
L:
I, of course, always
with what you are doing. The papers
carry not only your schedules but they consider their advice as to where
you should go.
K:
Oh, yeah.
L:
Bye the way, I thought the Buchwald piece was very funny.
K:
Yeah, I'm going to charge him because I'm in 20% of his columns.
L:
I know, I know.
K:
It's always in good fun.
L:
Yeah. Oh, well, he is an enormous admirer. I know that because he's
told me so.
K:
Well, he's a good friend.
L:
He's a wonderful guy, a very good friend. And there are so many other
pieces I've read that I rather -- the Tony Lewis piece, did you see that
one?
K:
Yeah, that was less friendly.
L:
It wasn't less friendly really but a little more analytical. I don't think
it was unfriendly. I don't think any piece I've ever read about you is
really unfriendly. You know, it's like somebody looking at a child and
they say well, he doesn't look so good but he looks great to me.
K:
(laughter)
L:
At any rate, I'll come down and see you on Wednesday. You let us know
what time it suits your convenience.
K:
Good.
L:
And I'll plan to come down and then we'll go from Washington to LA.
