K:
Hello.
DK:
Hi, Henry,
K:
Dave. I called you earlier about that story from
Jerusalem Did you learn today that I had called Rabin and asked
for a Middle East proposal.
DK:
We killed the story.
K:
No, it's in the paper.
DK:
I know, but we killed it--
K:
It's really an outrageous , inacurate--bbut not even inacurate--
there's nothing to it.
DK:
Henry, the story is killed.
K:
Okay.
DK:
It was going in our first two editions, and I killed it out later.
K:
Okay.
DK:
When I was told that there was serious question as to the accuracy
of it, I took it out.
K:
A mischiefous story. I see no basis bor it.
DK:
No meeting occurred in which any suggestion was made that it
would be well to seek a settlement of any kind.
K:
That's right.
DK:
You don't foresee any settlement coming.
K:
That I don't want to say, but I -- I can imagine that settlement
might eventually come. But the point is I did not ask them to make
a proposal - - you know I may have seen him four weeks ago --I haven't
seen him in three or four weeks.
DK:
And there would not have been anything said even if such a meeting
was
K:
No
