I just wanted to call to tell you that I thought your speech really went
extremely well.

stuff in there but I think we got the Vietnam point across and the

sharp contrast with McGovern.

No, but I meant that it was very statesmanlike and very strong.

No, I think it's going to settle down. Chou En-lai babbled a little bit
again but just the usual stuff.
P:
He's got to babble.

D id you hear what McGovern did tonight?
P:
No, not the latest.
K:
He got off an airplane and one of your supporters was standing there
and he said -- and your supporter said, young fellow you'll be beaten SO
badly on Tuesday that you'll wish you had never left South Dakota SO
McGovern went up to him, put his arm around him and said "Kiss my ass.'

Oh, my God. He's really getting --
