Hello, Henry.

Joe, how are you?
A:
Well, I'm not lawfully well. My supposed cure turned out to be
an absolute bust.
K:
Oh, really.
A:
Uh huh, I'm taking about a half holiday. I'm feeling better
every minute, so there you are.
K:
Well, I'm sorry to hear about it. Was Kay along?
A:
No, she didn't go. I called her up and told her not to come, the
place is too awful, and I couldn't stay the course, actually, and
came on home, because it was too dreary, and there wasn't
anywhere to walk, you know--
K:
Yeah.
A:
And, look, is there any chance of seeing you?
K:
Well, Joe, I'm actually seeing no one from the press and I'm
not even returning calls. I'm doing it with you only because of
our friendship.
A:
The excuse is I have to go back and write on Monday, and I'd
like to have a little feeling of how things look. I trust they
look pretty hopeful.
K:
They look pretty hopeful and we got essentially what we were
after.
A:
You did?
K:
Yes, but you would have to write this on the assumptions.
A:
Yes-

You could say this is your impression from reading the newspapers.
