2 HAK: And talk to him in a friendly and positive manner. Agnew: All right, what is his general attitude? HAK: He is very relaxed and very confident. But of course you know he is a courageous man. Agnew: Well, that cerjtainly should have reassured him to a great extent. HAK: Oh yes. It was a good meeting. Agnew: I had to move the reception from the elipse up to Andrews in a hangar because the weather here is abominable. They are expecting flash floods and severe storms right about the time of his arrival. So we moved it out to the hangar. We're trying to bus some of the Vietnamese out there, but it's not going to be a big arrival. HAK: But you don't have any choice, do you? Agnew: No, but I was a little disappointedin the cabinet. I have one exception. Secretary Brennan is the only guy that accepted. Now a couple of them are out of town but the rest of them said no, only if a command performance. HAK: I'm going to get some of them out there. Agnew: Well, I told Brennan not to come because I felt that if just one cabinet officer showed up we'd be better off HAK: Well, wait, I'm going to get Steve Bull to call the Cabinet members. Or is there enough time? Agnew: Well, they don't have much time. I'm leaving the office in another five minutes.to get out there. HAK: It's a disgrace. Agnew: I sort of feel Henry in view of the weather conditions and in view of the fact that they made all these bad excuses about not coming Richardson's testifying on the Hill, somebody's here, somebody's there, we'd be better off just forgetting about it. HAK: But äre they coming to your dinner?
